LABOR DAY LOCKDOWN

What a fantastic start to the season for Mr. Thursday Night. A 4-1-1 Saturday should have been enough to get your wife or girlfriend off your ass for at least a few hours on this extended weekend.

Tonight we have the best matchup of week 1. Boise St. should not be giving road points to any team and that includes Virginia Tech. If you are a legit college football fan, you will hope and pray the Hoakies take care of business tonight otherwise we will likely be stuck with Boise State in the championship game after running through their 3A high school schedule. This game reminds me of Boise's trip to Georgia a few years ago which resulted in a 35 point beatdown. Expect Tyrod Taylor to win the QB battle over Kellen Moore along with V-tech dominating both sides of the line.

VIRGINIA TECH PLUS 1 VS BOISE STATE

  1. Not so fast my friend! The Broncos will be victorious in a very low scoring ball game this evening. While I have the utmost respect for Beamer, this VaTech team is a shadow of the TCU team Boise handled last year in the BCS. Give Peterson enough time to prepare and he will beat you. Just ask Oklahoma. With darn near the entire team returning from last year, coupled with the coaching prowess of Mr. Peterson, the Broncos will defend their #3 ranking and start their run toward a national title game. Look for Titus Ivory and Kellen Moore to hook up multiple times as both of these studs show the rest of the country they are for real. And don't forget Boise's defense in this one either. With a barely above average offense from VT, the Broncos don't give up more than 2 TD's tonight in a 24-17 win.

  2. Hey Corso, would you consider 33-30 "low scoring?"

  3. Hey hey there my friend, no need to get your panties in a bunch just because I called a Bronco victory. Turnovers and blocked punts created 24 easy points for both teams. Very little time or yardage needed for points in those cases. Add on an atypical 71yd run for a TD from Boise and you have 31 points scored in a very short amount of time. Offensive wise, this looked to be a low scoring game however the unforeseen factors made this game "look" like both offenses put up some points.
