  1. Please share the drugs you are smoking! 3 Big 10 teams in the top 7? Wisconsin 3rd? OMFG you are a joke! Bama, LSU, TCU, Boise, Nebraska, Stanford, and Arkansas would all take Wisconsin behind the wood shed. Get a clue jackass.

  2. stick to the tanning beds jesse. the big 10 is the best conference in all of the land this season. all 3 big 10 teams could beat anyone in the country on a neutral field. bowl season will prove this.

  3. TCU wins a game against a Utah team who hasn't beat anyone and all of a sudden they are a powerhouse? The next time TCU wins a significant game it'll be the 1st time since the LT era. Its not hard to get up for 2 or 3 games per year when you play in shitty conferences like these mid majors.

  4. Gonna have to go with JP on this one. 3 Big 10 teams in the top 7 is a bit too much. 1 in the top 10 is about right. Wisconsin at 3 is toeing the line of retardation. And no, Wiscy could not beat anyone (besides Iowa and tOSU in your top 10) on a neutral field.

Jim, who has Oregon beat that makes them worthy of #1? They have played just as easy of a schedule as Boise or TCU yet guys like you think because they play in a AQ conference they deserve their ranking. They have played 2 teams with winning records. Stanford and USC (3-3 in P10). Take those 2 teams away and their opponents' records are: 18-46. The EXACT same argument can be made about getting up for 2-3 games per year. They have played New Mexico (1-8), Tenn (3-6 and 0-5 in the SEC), Portland St (2-7 in FCS), ASU (4-5), Stan (8-1), Wash St (1-9), UCLA (4-5), USC (6-3 and 3-3 in P10) and Wash (3-6). How are these teams not the equivalent of the MTN West or WAC?

TCU would have just as good of a chance to win the Big 10 as tOSU, Iowa or Wiscy. They'd have just as good of chance to win the SEC as Bama, Auburn, LSU etc. They'd have just as good of a chance to win the Pac 10 as Oregon or whatever other mediocre team you want to throw in there. They'd easily win the ACC or Big East.

Boise is in the same boat here and I could make the same argument for them. I'm not saying TCU or Boise would win the Big 10 or SEC, but I wouldn't have said any one team is a lock to win the Big 10 or SEC at the beginning of the year either. Boise and TCU would be one of the favorites to win any conference they were in, period.

It's not like playing Indiana, Purdue, Minny, NW, Michigan and Illinois are games you need to "get up for" if you are a top 7 team! So, in the Big 10 if I'm Wisconsin (the 3rd best team in the country), I really only have to "get up" for tOSU and Iowa. While a case can be made for MSU or PSU, they are not as good as they seem and a top 7 team shouldn't have to "get up" for the game in order to take care of business. Just because you don't watch the teams on TV doesn't mean they are complete garbage.

AF and SDSU are equivalent to PSU, Ill and Mich. Utah is better than all of them and MSU. Throw Oregon St into the mix and TCU's schedule doesn't look all that different from any Big 10 team's schedule. Sagarin has TCU's SOS at 62 and Wiscy's at 70 fwiw. While the lower tiered teams in the MTN West may be a bit worse than the lower tiered teams of the Big 10, it's not that far off and should be a moot point when talking about having to "get up" for games within your conference.

The same case can't be made for the WAC other than Nevada being equivalent to PSU, Ill and Mich. However, throw in road trip to DC to play Va Tech to Boise's schedule and it raises things a bit.

The bottom line is TCU and Boise are elite teams and could compete in any conference and have just as good of a chance to win any conference as any other team. Until there is a playoff, the BCS will just pair the 2 of them up in a bowl so they can quit knocking off the AQ conference teams ala Utah beating Bama in '08 and Cal in '09. Ala Boise beating OU in '06 and at Oregon in '08 and '09. I could keep going...

  5. you watch too much espn coach k. tcu and boise would go 4-4 in the big 10. they do not have the size, the depth or the athletes to compete, week to week with the big boys.

  6. First off, I pride myself for not watching ESPN unless I'm trying to get a read on what Joes like MTN are thinking and what square plays they'll be all over. Secondly, saying they would go 4-4 is only enforcing my opinion of your idiocy. The only teams that would give either team competition are tOSU, Wiscy and Iowa and I would venture to say not one of those teams would win at TCU. Lastly, do yourself a favor and go check the rosters of Boise and TCU and tell me they don't have the size or speed to compete. Each team's 2 deep is plenty good so they have depth.
