LOCK OF THE CENTURY

Lock of the Century
By: Cooby L.

The day has finally come. What day you may ask? The day of the E-Friends Challenge. For the past couple years, smack talk, e-fighting and ridiculous predictions have been thrown out about who would win this event involving 10 events ranging from mph throwing to darts to basketball.

The group of E-Friends is made up of some of the most elite ath-a-letes this world has ever seen.

Dan "The Ostrich" Fletcher would seem like the odds on favorite due to his massive size, yet agile, athletic ability but this writer is not sold on that just yet. Injuries have slowed him down and I see the only advantage now being in basketball solely based on size. Let the amateurs wager on The Ostrich.
Odds: 10:1

Josh "Whoa Is Me" Russo may be a safe bet. Athletic - check. In shape - check (well he at least works out occassionally). Hard Worker - check. One may look at Josh Russo and see the 6'1, 185 pound dreamboat and think there is no way this guy can lose, but I wouldn't bet on it. Josh is known to crumble when he sees athletes of the same caliber and this could cost him in the end.
Odds: 5:1

Adam "Turbo" Jay is the long shot of the four competing in this competition but could it be worth the risk? As the elder of the group, Jay has been through a lot. Plus, he has one of the best trainers in the world in Ross "Pretty Boy" Steckelberg. 2 things will slow Adam down though. He is afraid of commitment in anything that he does. Not even Steckelberg has been able to get Adam to bring out his full potential. Problem #2 is that he is the 4th best athlete in this group. So the question remains, can experience outweigh his 2 problems? My money says no.
Odds: 100:1

Finally, we come to the odds on favorite. Matt "Lingz" Lindgren. Matt has everything working in his favor. He turns 28 this Sunday and is just hitting his prime. Seeing as he is the most active in the events this competition consists of, one can only believe that that will account for more than these other 3 clowns have to offer. There is not a weakness in this guys game. Whether its bar games like pool or darts or throwing 90 mph heaters, Matt has the overall game that will take the cake. I know you have to bet a lot to not win a lot, but this is easily the Cooby L's "LOCK OF THE CENTURY."
Odds: 1:20
